UKCA Marking

The UK Conformity Assessed mark is the product marking scheme intended to be the long-term replacement for the European CE (Conformité Européene) mark for products sold in Great Britain.

UKTC ensure is the first third-party certification scheme designed around the principles of the golden thread and offers companies the opportunity to demonstrate their commitment to safety and compliance.

Meet the Certification Team

Ian joined UKTC in April 2024 following more than 20 years in the certification industry auditing passive fire protection products. Ian’s career began at Warringtonfire before moving on to IFC Certification and NW Labs most recently.

Ian’s career has taken him around the world, conducting over 1500 audits including 3rd Party Certification, AVCP, MED, and QMS covering products such as fire doors, penetration seals and door hardware.

Ian Laithwaite

Matthew brings a wealth of experience to UKTC following a long career in the testing and certification industry. Prior to joining UKTC in August 2024, Matthew spent time at the British Board of Agrément as Principal Certification Officer following over two decades at Warringtonfire in similar roles.

Matthew’s expertise has seen him represent the UK at the United Nations for International Maritime Organisation meetings as well as representing other approved bodies on roof and rollingstock committees.
