About the Role

UKTC is expanding the scope of it's service provision. As part of this expansion, UKTC is
building a Technical Services business unit that will offer a variety of professional services to
it's existing customer base.

As a Senior Product Conformity Officer within the Technical Services division, you will prepare
engineering reports including, but not limited to, Classification Reports in accordance with BS
EN 13501-2 and Extended Field of Application (ExAp) Reports to BS EN 15269-1.

You will also play a pivotal role in shaping board-level decisions by actively contributing to
the organization's strategic vision. This will include a particular focus on defining the future
role of the Technical Services business unit and its seamless integration with other key
business divisions such as Testing and Certification.

Roles and Responsibilities


  • Judge the relevance and impact of primary and secondary fire and smoke leakage test data used to support classification, ExAp's and conformity assessment

  • Liaise with customers to understand and define their requirements and coordinate testing programmes with the relevant testing departments and/ or suppliers.

  • Witness test carried out by external suppliers to ensure compliance with the relevant standard or technical specification.

  • Continuously develop state-of-the-art knowledge in National, European and International Standards and Specifications relating to fire safety.

  • Lead and contribute to the development of standards, and to represent the company, as appropriate, on nominated standards, trade associations and on other public platforms where required.


Essential Knowledge/ Skills/ Experience


  • At least 6 years experience designing, testing, inspecting or certifying fire doors or other passive fire products.

  • BSc qualification or equivalent (scientific/ engineering discipline).

  • Demonstrable experience of standards BS EN 1634-1, BS EN 1634-3 and BS EN 13501-2

  • Able to read and understand technical drawings.

  • Proficient in MS Office, particularly, Word and Excel.

  • Can prioritise and reach decisions quickly and effectively.
